Mother & Daughter Workshop

As the daughter grows older , the mother-daughter relationship changes, often generating conflict and competition. The Workshop wants to enable contact on a creative and aective level between mother and daughter, through joint artistic work. By picking an interest in sewing and craftsmanship, understanding and wonder can naturally arise while making beautiful decorative pieces.

What's Fuxico?

The word fuxico can be understood as sewing slightly large stitches as well as making intrigues and gossip. In Brazil its origin comes from the northeastern popular culture where women gathered to splice pieces of fabrics and took the opportunity to talk; hence the double meaning of the word fuxico. Cutting the fabric into a circle and furrowing it was a dierent way of composing varied colors and prints forming units, which linked to each other were drawing new meanings in the larger whole.
